If you want to be successful at work, you have to be thoughtful and intentional with the way you spend your time outside of work as well! The way you spend your time during the evening, weekends and vacations can have a big impact on your career.

  • Exercise

Okay okay, you heard this a million times before, but exercise cannot be overemphasized. It is scientifically proven that a consistent fitness regime boosts your creativity, confidence and resilience, both personally and professionally. Haven`t you heard the saying? ‘Healthy Body, Healthy Mind!’

  • Seek Inspiration & Experience

Go out; put yourself in new & Intriguing environments – in your own city or on a trip far away from home, this removes the dust particles from the corner of your Brain and can lead to a burst of creative problem-solving genius. You can Even go to places you never thought you would land a foot in.

  • Build Authentic Relationships

You need to understand the value of building relationships, which are real, face-to-face connections, and conversations that go deeper than `what about the weather Today? “. When was the last time you had a meaningful, deep, phone-free conversation with a colleague, friend or Mentor? You have no idea what connections you can make and the ideas that can come forward which will change the course of your Career.

  • Unplug

We know this might be difficult for you, but we are serious! No devices, no WI-FI, no emails and no social media – this will renew your mind, body and spirit. Try to find some time to curl up with a good book once in a while or chill out in your jammies, preserving your time for relaxation and the tech-free time. Technology is miraculous, but highly successful people know that unplugged time is essential too.

  • Take evening classes and invest in yourself

Whether it`s coaching, psychotherapy, an acting workshop, graduate school or a weekend program on a topic that interests you, go for it! When you invest in yourself, whether you are investing in your mind, body or spirit – will all contribute back to your professional success.

 

  • De-Stress & take care of yourself.

You need to understand that if you`re feeling run down, distracted, or unwell, this will influence the quality of your work and will hinder on your success. It`s important to distance yourself from work after working hours, go home, de-stress and take care of yourself. Some do yoga stretching, go for a walk, take care of their plants, and the list goes on, just find YOUR thing!

 

There are 168 hours every week, you probably spend 30 – 50 at work, leaving you with 118 – 138 hours to sleep, eat, rest and however you want. What will you choose?
